“Moonlight,” conceived by artist Luca Pannoli for the City of Salerno in 2016, is a work that, through the words of poet Federico García Lorca, re-proposes the beauty of the moon and the firmament in a poetic key. Its slender, supple metal outlines recall the figure of the spider mentioned in the poem (weaver of subtle, invisible webs and ancient symbol of creation), and illuminated by dynamic colored lights, they draw soft, sinuous tracings in the sky that recall the waves of the sea, the crowns of trees and the ever-changing shapes of clouds. On the top can be seen Federico García Lorca’s poem entitled Capriccio: “In the net / of the moon / spider / of the sky / are entangled / the stars / fluttering.” Federico García Lorca, master of Symbolism and Surrealism, uses poetry as a means of revelation, with images that fuse the visible and the invisible, the real and the fantastic. His poetry embodies the “magic word,” as Paul Valéry called it, capable of evoking deep inner worlds. Pannoli’s installation makes light poetry a bridge between heaven and earth, an invitation to look beyond the surface and discover the invisible links between things.
