Extended description

“Coloring Salerno” stems from a childhood memory of the artist. “As for many children,” says Pannoli, “colored pencils constitute the preferred means of expressing one’s emotions. In my case, drawing has always constituted a moment of happiness. I have always considered the pencil a “magical” object, a primordial tool that since birth in its archaic form – the stone – has represented, for man, the means with which to imagine the world; a tool so simple and extraordinary, that in 2019 it will inspire me in a renewed version of it, patented and made in 3D printing. “. “Coloring Salerno” was born, therefore, from these suggestions. Kandinsky saw color as a spiritual force capable of awakening deep feelings, while Goethe studied its psychological and symbolic qualities. In “Coloring Salerno,” each colored light becomes an emotional message because each pencil bears a word: love, hope, joy, respect, friendship…. Their luminous presence recalls Hannah Arendt’s reflections on the power of words and political action as world-building tools. It is a way of saying that each of us can actively participate to create shared meanings, to beautify the world, to “color” it, to make it certainly more joyful but also more just.
