On Monday, December 7, 2020, the Provincial Library and the Library of Archaeology and Art History will resume providing public services including loan, consultation, bibliographic information, and reproductions.
“We are reopening our Provincial Library for on-site consultation,” states the President of the Province, Michele Strianese, “and of course for loan services, bibliographic information, and reproductions. Access will be allowed to a maximum of 18 people and only by reservation, by sending a request to the following email addresses: biblioteca@provincia.salerno.it (Provincial Library) and museumsbiblioteche@provincia.salerno.it (Library of Archaeology and Art History).”
“I want to emphasize the particular attention that the Province of Salerno has dedicated to the safety and protection of both our library heritage and our users. For example, borrowed volumes, upon their return, are placed in preventive isolation for at least 15 days and therefore are not immediately available for other loans. Without withdrawing documentary funds and book collections from circulation, the books are placed in quarantine. We have also installed modern anti‑Covid thermoscanners at the entrances of our cultural venues, including the Library. Our provincial libraries – whose collections we have recently enhanced by purchasing new valuable volumes – since the beginning of the epidemiological emergency have been making extraordinary efforts to keep a fundamental service active for the entire city and our territory.”
