Lights d’Artist– edition 2024-2025
Lights d’Artist 2024-2025 opened on Friday, November 29.
The opening ceremony of the traditional exhibition of luminous works of art was held at 5 p.m. at the Villa Comunale and immediately after at 6:30 p.m. at Piazza Caduti Civili di Brescia in the eastern part of the city.
Until Feb. 2, the magical light art exhibition will illuminate the city’s streets, squares and most characteristic places, attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors. Tens of kilometers of cables and millions of energy-efficient LED lamps create fantastic figures and compositions that draw on myth, nature, sidereal elements, creatures of the universe and history.
The event conceived by Vincenzo De Luca, then Mayor of the city and now President of the Campania Region, is organized by the City of Salerno-Mayor Vincenzo Napoli-thanks to the contribution of the Campania Region. An exhibition to be experienced by being involved in a magical atmosphere that captivates young and old alike. Luci d’Artista in Salerno is the triumph of fantasy, the metaphor of light and colors that overcome the gloom and cold of darkness.
Kicking off the event was Salerno Mayor Vincenzo Napoli, with performances by the choir and orchestra of the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theater.
On Friday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m., in a wonderful festive air, Luci d’Artista went into full swing with the lighting of U.F.O. (Una Formidabile Occasione), the new opera in Flavio Gioia Square, and the splendid Christmas Tree in Portanova Square.
The two inaugural moments were accompanied by as many musical performances scheduled in the extensive program of “Musica d’Artista“: Choir and String Quartet for a gospel concert in Flavio Gioia Square and Teatro Verdi Children’s Voice Choir in Portanova Square.
Many will be the cultural events for the whole family that will accompany the event, thanks in part to the synergy with trade associations: from the Musica d’Artista review promoted by the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theater, to Jazz in Luce, from the MeraviglioSA markets to Fairy Tales and the Castle of the Leprechauns for the little ones; and also exhibitions and displays and many initiatives in the neighborhoods. Salernitani and tourists will thus be able to experience the magical atmosphere of the Lights and together enjoy many, many different moments of entertainment.
